Happy Festivus!
That’s right - it’s time for Festivus, the holiday for the rest of us! Today begins the Airing of Grievances, followed by the Feats of Strength, which shall end with the classical Pinning of the Head of Household. I’m looking forward to the last part - the ESO is the only person in the apartment that has a prayer of pulling it off, seeing as our son is five months old and all, and I’m aiming to make her work for it. *grin*
Alas, I have no serious grievances to air. Yes, the economy looks miserable, and yeah, Washington and Wall Street are both doing a respectable job of royally messing things up, but that’s nothing new. My family is great, my job is solid - heck, even the ancient Dakota is pretty well behaved these days. It’s a Festivus Miracle!
I do have a small Festivus roundup today, though. Hot Air has some decent coverage, and Rachel Lucas is jumping on it with four paws. To truly appreciate the spirit of the holiday, however, I strongly recommend Fark’s Festivus thread, full of over 500 grievances (and counting). If that doesn’t put you in the Festivus spirit, nothing well.
